Gjertrud Eggen was borned in 1955.

She started photographing in 2008 and is partly self-taught . Gjertrud has had the photographers Marit Wollan (2011) and Morten Løberg (2014/15) as mentors. At the present time, she has Photographer Stig Marlon Weston as her mentor.

In 2017/18 she participated in Nordphotography Mentorprogram for one year, their workshops “The photobook” with Jonathan Laurence 2019, “Portfolio” with Cig Harvey in 2019 and “Its Shot, What Now” with Julie Graham 2020.

In 2018 she attended Cyan “The Portfolioreview” which she also did in September 2020.

Gjertrud published her photobook “Nå” in 2019. The book was also presented as a part of Oslo Photobook Festival the same year.
